Shalom means: peace, safety, completeness, soundness and harmony… A powerful blessing.
Founded by country music industry giant Steve Moore, The Shalom Foundation’s mission is to bring healing and hope to vulnerable children in Guatemala by demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ and providing free, life-changing medical and surgical care. Hope, for the children and the families in Guatemala, is understanding for the first time, that there is something more to life than what was dealt to them.
The Shalom Foundation opened The Moore Pediatric Surgery Center, Guatemala’s only pediatric surgery center in 2011 and began providing free, world-class surgeries to children who otherwise wouldn’t have access to any such care.
The Moore Center addresses the need for critical surgical care by providing an international destination for children’s hospitals, medical centers, and medical teams across the country.
Since opening its doors, The Moore Center has provided over 7,000 children with life-changing surgeries, hosted over 115 surgical mission teams, and provided hope to thousands of families each year.
The Gospel Music Association salutes Steve Moore for putting his faith to action. The impact of the Shalom Foundation has reached across borders to change lives and serve those in need.
