LOVE SONG is a rock band that was formed in 1970 during the Jesus Movement, a revival of God’s Holy Spirit among the counter culture. The band started with four young hippies, that each had recently experienced a conversion to Jesus Christ either at Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, Ca, or in surrounding nearby churches. Just a few years later, in 1972, they released their debut album, Love Song. Their ministry flourished amidst the swirl of national media attention from top record labels and interviews with magazines including Rolling Stone.

Through the 70s, LOVE SONG band members included: Bob Wall, Tommy Coomes, John Mehler, Chuck Girard, Jay Truax, Fred Field, and Phil Keaggy.
